(Social) Housing Design Guidelines, Queensland
Cathryn has been engaged by the State Government Department of Housing Partnerships to work collaboratively with the department team, the Queensland Government Architect’s team and Surroundings Architects to develop housing design guidelines for the State. These guidelines will improve future social and private housing outcomes across Queensland. In her role, Cathryn provides - strategic project direction - Guidelines’ drafting and development - Support to the team - Facilitation of working sessions.

Moreton Bay Great Places Program, Moreton Bay Queensland
The newly formed Moreton Bay Regional Council Urban Design and Place Making team engaged Cathryn to work with Council to plan and direct its Great Places Program, which aims to improve urban development outcomes across the region. The project has defined a five-year program of work for the team — designed to improve urban outcomes and increase awareness of the value of good urban design and place making to a rapidly growing Region.

Australian National University Acton Campus Master Plan, Canberra, ACT
Cathryn was appointed as Design Manager for the Arup team — commissioned by the Australian National University to deliver a master plan to guide the future evolution of its 145 Ha Acton Campus.
Alongside Urban Enquiry, the team combined the diverse skills and experience of Arup, Lovell Chen, John Wardle Architects, Turnberry Consulting, Karen Wright Projects and Mantra Studios. Together, the team delivered a comprehensive master plan incorporating energy and heritage strategies for the university.

Greater Curtin Academic Heart - Campus Planning and Place Making Consultancy, Western Australia
Cathryn led the Perth-based project team that combined the expertise of Meter Design and Donaldson + Warn with AECOM’s Design and Planning team. Working collaboratively with Curtin University, key stakeholders and other consultancies, the team developed a Master Plan to guide the growth of the ‘Academic Heart’ of the university within the context of the Greater Curtin Master Plan Vision.

Q Design - Better Design Agenda, Queensland
The Queensland Government Architect engaged Cathryn to work collaboratively with his Office to establish urban design guidelines for the State. The project sought to establish a concise reference document and design resource to guide the delivery of high-quality architectural, public realm and street design outcomes for Queensland. QDesign was launched publicly by The Hon. Mick De Brenni MP in December 2018.

While at AECOM Greater Curtin – The Curtin City Master Plan, Perth WA
The Perth-based project team was led by Cathryn and combined the expertise of AECOM’s design and planning specialists with Donaldson + Warn, CBRE, Pracsys, Syrinx and Arup. Working collaboratively with the client and key stakeholders, a Master Plan was established to guide the transformation of this 114Ha university campus into a vibrant and diverse city centre over the next 20 years — delivering light rail to the heart of the campus and producing documentation that is being used to engage development partners.

While at AECOM Brisbane Airport Corporation Property Development Master Plan, Brisbane QLD
Cathryn was the Project Director and led the competition-winning team that brought together the creative expertise of Grimshaw, Tract, PwC and 3+. Working collaboratively with the client, BAC Property and a broader platform of key stakeholders, the team developed a detailed Property Master Plan which explored ways to provide a platform for development of the airport land-side in a way that allows immediate, flexible and innovative responses to market demands - climate change - carbon cost - lifestyle changes - technology advances - new development paradigms.
